The Isles Tour
Day One : Leave Edinburgh at 8.30am for Stirling: from Braveheart to Bannockburn, Rob Roy Country, Glen Coe, The Great Glen, Eilean Donan Castle; stay at the Plockton Hotel , with superb seafood.
Day Two : On to the Isle of Skye, views of the Cuillins, via the capital, Portree, the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, the Quirang, Uig, ferry across the magical Minch to Tarbert, Isle of Harris; stay at Tarbert: the Harris Hotel.
Day Three : From the sublime beaches and mountains of the Isle of Harris to the Isle of Lewis to visit the Standing Stones at Callanish, Dun Carloway Broch and the blackhouses at Gearrannan and Arnol, back to the Harris Hotel.
Day Four : Tour around Harris including the widning and characterful 'Golden Road', after lunch leave Stornoway, Lewis by ferry for Ullapool; travel down across Wester Ross to the Black Isle: stay in 18 th century luxury at five star, Braelangwell on the Black Isle.
Day Five : Visit some local Black Isle folklore, on to Inverness and Culloden Battlesite, Clava Cairns (another Neolithic highlight). South through Perthshire and back to Edinburgh for early evening (can add an extra day (s) at any point to savor this wonderful tour).
