A custom tour gives you the chance to customize your own personalized independent tours or short breaks in Scotland, England and Ireland. If visiting Edinburgh why not also explore St. Andrews, visit a distillery in Perthshire or get a feel for the Scottish Highlands? Dally a while off the main routes and take in some local folklore. Tours can give you an overview of Scotland, or a particular area or topic.

Popular private and small group tours include St. Andrews and the Kingdom of Fife (golf, castle, cathedral, beaches, eateries, shops and all) including the enchanting villages of the East Neuk of Fife (where Serenity Scotland is based) and their varied fishing harbours, crow-step gabled houses, wee shops, pottery and art studios, and also strategically important Stirling Castle combined with eerie Castle Campbell.

Recent distillery visits designed to clients wishes have been to Harris Distillery to try the Hearach, Ardnamurchan Distillery, Bunnahabhainn, Bruichladdich and Ardanhoe.  UK tours in 2023 have included Kent, the Cotswolds, Oxford, The Peak District, and Cumbria.

These tours can be enhanced with off-the-beaten track visits including gardens, organic farms and shops, early church sites (even open air Christian places of worship), boat trips, low and high level walks, roped cliff walks, tours underground into tunnels and souterrains, blackhouse villages, trips to see Pictish stones, Iron Age brochs, tours of lesser-visited fairy pools and glens, visits to places connected to literary, artistic and musical figures.

This is our opportunity to craft your Heritage Tour, History and Folklore Tour, Walking Tour, Arts & Crafts Tour, Shopping Tour, City Tour, Adventure Tour or Outdoors Tour to your requirements. We can also arrange cultural tours, including tours incorporating Celtic Connections, Edinburgh Festival, Island and Highland festivals, family events, the Enchanted Wood in Highland Perthshire and experiences specific to an area at a particular time of year.

We recommend vegetarian/vegan/dietary options during your stay, if required.

If you want to better experience and understand Scotland, England, and Wales within the UK we can create the customized tour that suits your interests and needs:

A custom tour of the Scottish Borders and Northern England that has been done in various customized forms many times successfully includes a tour of Traquair House (and brewery) and the Borders Abbeys at Melrose and Dryburgh before settling for the night in Kelso. The following day head over the border itself into England at Berwick-Upon-Tweed (to see the complete Elizabethan city walls of Berwick). visit Holy Island, option of Bamburgh and onto Alnwick Castle (for Harry Potter fans). A night around Durham and its fantastic Norman cathedral, a study in permanence, before a journey via Robin Hood’s Bay and the Yorkshire coast to Whitby.

Stay in and visit York with its minister, a masterpiece of various Gothic styles, the close winding streets of the ‘Shambles’ and city walls. Head via Harrogate and the Yorkshire Dales National Park to the Lake District for an overnight stop. Visit Lanercost Priory and Hadrian’s Wall, back over the Western Marches to see the 16th century ‘Scots Dyke’ and from Liddiesdale to solitary and frightening, Hermitage Castle. Back to Edinburgh the following day.

On this tour we pay special attention to the respective and comparative histories and folklores of Scotland and England, and how these relate to the story of Britain.
