Highland Perthshire & Stirling

On this tour, you’ll be welcomed and picked up from your accommodation in Edinburgh or directly from the airport. You’ll travel through Bannockburn, known for its historic 1314 battle site, and on to Stirling, where you can admire the old city walls and impressive 17th-century buildings like Cowane’s Hospital and Argyll’s Lodging. You’ll visit the Church of the Holy Rude—famous as the place where James VI/I was baptised and crowned—and explore Stirling Castle, which offers views of the Wallace Monument, the Ochil Hills, the Campsie Fells, and Flanders Moss.

Your journey continues from Stirling Crag via Gowan Hill toward The Trossachs, passing by Deanston, an early 19th-century model village with its mill now transformed into Deanston Distillery. You’ll see Doune Castle, once home to the Dukes of Albany and dowager queens, and now recognized as a film location for Monty Python and Diane Gabaldon’s ‘Outlander.’ There is a great lunch option at the Buttercup Cafe in Doune.

Next, you’ll travel through Kilmahog to view highland cattle, cross along Loch Lubnaig to Glen Ogle, and enter the highland village of Killin to take in the Falls of Dochart from their unique glacial boulders. Along Loch Tay, which plunges to depths of 150 meters, you’ll visit Croft Moraig’s double stone circle before arriving in Aberfeldy—a charming small highland town near J.K. Rowling’s country home. Finally, you’ll meander your way back to Edinburgh.

All stops and visits on this tour can be customized according to your preferences.
